The Nike Air VaporMax Plus Wolf Grey Dark Grey White combined elements of two of the Nike sneakers that came long before it to create a brand-new shoe in 2019.

The grey upper on this sneaker was inspired by the Air Max that was first released in 1998. It was constructed out of neoprene and molded TPU, and it had a mini Swoosh logo on the sneaker's collar. The translucent sole on this sneaker, meanwhile, was borrowed from the Vapor Max sneaker that was first released in 2017. It helped give the shoe a very familiar look from the start.

But in our expert opinion, the thing that made this sneaker stand out the most and differentiated it from other Nike sneakers that looked like it was the shiny piece of chrome situated in the midfoot area.
